Within the context of the Green Projects carried out by the Government of Río Negro, it was agreed to continue the studies for the production of Green Hydrogen in the Atlantic area of our province.
The president of the well-known German institute, Jochen Bard, visited our province together with Marie Plaisir, responsible for the Process Technology Division, and Alejandro Gesino, representative of the institute in Argentina, in order to meet the governmental actors with whom they have been working for more than a year on Green Projects, and to start a second study for a first scale of production.
On Thursday 10, meetings were held at the State Secretariat of Planning in which the team of the Investment promotion Agency and the team of that department analyzed the steps to be taken. Then they met at the Government House with the Minister of Government and Community, Rodrigo Buteler, and the Secretary of Government, Agustín Ríos, to discuss the green hydrogen issue, the project and investments.
After the meeting with the government authorities, the members of the German institute visited the area of San Antonio Oeste and Puerto del Este, together with the Executive Manager of “RN Invierte Agency”, Gonzalo Medina; the Secretary of State for Planning, Daniel Sanguinetti and the Head of the Provincial Water Department, Fernando Curetti.
During the visit to one of the three places, where the above mentioned studies are being carried out, the authorities of the institute were able to analyze the availability of land, water resources, and logistics, to formally start a second stage.
"We had a meeting with provincial authorities, providing follow-up to the study we did last year, and moving forward with a second feasibility study for a Green Hydrogen plant," said Bard.
"We are also starting similar studies in other provinces as a consequence of what has been done in this province. But we see that Rio Negro has the advantage of having unique natural and wind resources, as well as an administration and support from the provincial state that is promising for this type of studies," said the authority with respect to what characteristics they observe in our province with respect to others.
In this regard, Medina Cabrera said: "The coordination with the Institute is promising as a complement to our scientific community in order to approach different aspects of demand for green hydrogen as well as direct foreign investors.
