When the Free Trade Zone is restored, trade competitiveness conditions will be strengthened and the region will be transformed into a key development area.
"It is a project that we have been working on for a year, to support investments in renewable energies, in particular Green Hydrogen, a fuel that is taking a central role in the global scenario", said the Governor at the end of the meeting.
She explained that after this agreement, work will be done to set up "an Industrial Park in an area historically hit from the economic point of view, and it will allow us to balance economically and productively the province".
Then she stated that Green Hydrogen "is an opportunity for the world, with the aim of working on mitigating the emission of greenhouse gases" and pointed out that the energy transition "will have a relevant importance and the production of Green Hydrogen will be part of this plan".
Once this agreement is approved by Provincial Law, a Committee will have to be created to advance in the call for national and international bids for the granting of the land concession, according to the provisions of Law 24.331.
What does the restitution of the Free Trade Zone mean?
- It has an industrial nature and a clear exporting bias, which is granted by its strategic position on the Argentine sea.
- The proposed geographical area has the necessary water, electricity and gas services. It also has paved access roads and its corresponding exit to the ocean.
- The current soil studies show that it is an ideal place for the establishment of export industries, since the tidal levels are significantly higher.
- It will allow accelerating and enhancing the growth of the innovation ecosystem and redesigning the industrial and technological productive map of the province, performing an action of strong impact and socioeconomic integration.
- It will include actions to strongly integrate the province to international markets, promoting its insertion in the productive map of the future based on the transfer of knowledge, innovation and added value to production.
- It will implement transversal policies among the different organizational levels of the provincial government, in order to promote the transfer of technology to the productive sector.
