A positive result for a wind farm in Cerro Policía

The presentation took place in the Commissions of Planning, Economic Affairs and Tourism; Constitutional Affairs and General Legislation; and Budget and Finance.

The agreement will implement a private investment project for the installation of a wind energy park, with the aim of achieving the objectives of clean energy and the commitment to a sustainable future for the people of the province of Río Negro.

"The project was sent by the Governor to the Provincial Legislature in the framework of the Green Hydrogen Strategic Plan," said the Secretary of State for Planning, Daniel Sanguinetti, who was in charge of the presentation in commissions, together with the directors of the provincial company.

"We are analysing the possibility of a company from Río Negro selling an asset to Argentina Fortescue Future Industries; in this case, we are talking about a project for the installation of a wind farm, which was already developed and has the corresponding premises," explained the official, who highlighted the economic value and its contribution to the entire hydrogen production chain, especially to the generation of renewable energy. 

In addition to emphasizing the Australian company's investment commitment, Sanguinetti underlined the Governor's predisposition to make all aspects of the green hydrogen project transparent and to communicate and link the different political parties so that everyone can give their opinion and collaborate for this long-term investment to go ahead.

He also assured that, to advance, it is essential to approve the National Hydrogen Law that defines the investment parameters and, from there, the conditions are established for the company to begin to submit documentation to the State of Río Negro so that the implementation and development of the park can take place. 

"We are talking about a medium-term project, which involves a lot of planning and study, for which the National Law will be fundamental", he summarised and assured that "from the first day that this State policy was drawn up, the objective was to improve the quality of life of the citizens through the generation of genuine jobs; and this is happening here because it is a state-owned company from Río Negro that is offering a product that has been developed over time and is selling it to an international company willing to invest in our province", Sanguinetti concluded.
