The initiative is part of a series of actions that have favored the implementation of the Provincial Plan for the Integral Management of Urban Solid Waste that expects its development to solve the open-air garbage landfills of five communities: Ingeniero Jacobacci, Pilcaniyeu, Comallo, Dina Huapi and San Carlos de Bariloche.
Based on a series of stages that include separation at source, initial disposal, collection, treatment, compaction, transportation and final disposal, the audiovisual material highlights the benefits of the process based on sanitary engineering principles for waste treatment, in order to avoid risks to public health and the environment.
The commitment to develop a greener and cleaner province requires the definitive closure of open-air landfills and a solution to the problem that arises in Bariloche and a large part of the Southern Region.
For this purpose, a few days ago, a delegation visited the facilities of the Coordinación Ecológica Área Metropolitana Sociedad del Estado (CEAMSE), with more than 40 years of experience. The Secretary of State Daniel Sanguinetti headed the delegation for Planning, together with the mayors of Bariloche, Gustavo Gennuso; of Pilcaniyeu, Néstor Ayuelef; of Dina Huapi, Mónica Balseiro; of Comallo, Raúl Hermosilla; and of Jacobacci, Carlos Toro.
Subsequently, the Province and each of the municipalities entered into an agreement establishing the need to manage in an integral and coordinated manner the urban solid waste from each community and the region, in order to enable the implementation of regional strategies and in compliance with the provisions of Provincial Law 5,491.
